Close your eyes and imagine your perfect wedding day. If it includes the entire day, then full coverage is undoubtedly what you’ll want to go with.

How much should wedding photography cost?

This is a very personal decision. Wedding photography has a huge range from $2,500 to upwards of $10,000. It really depends on your budget, and how much you really want a particular photographer. For example, currently my packages range from $2,500-$6,000.

I take into account a few different things. How many years I’ve been doing wedding photography, how much I feel my art is worth, and what I feel the quality of your experience is worth that I put so much effort in. Things like travel can also affect pricing too! Like I said. If you really love a photographer’s work and they are communicative, go for it!

My dream wedding photographer

What if you have a smaller budget but dream of hiring that perfect wedding photographer? Fear not! Let’s break it down.

First, calculate the maximum you can invest without worrying about paying your bills. Second, find your dream wedding photographer. Even if you can only afford their smallest package, you’ll get the experience you’ve been dreaming of. Remember, you’re investing in memories that will last a lifetime. As you can see, this is more than the hours that you need, in my opinion it is more important to find a photographer that you really connect with and like their style.

Photography experience

The experience that I am going to provide for you matters!! I hear it all the time when people go with a photographer because all their packages are cheap and then they either don’t receive their photos, they don’t show up to your wedding day etc.

Find someone who is serious about their job and will truly invest in you, and maybe you can’t afford their full day package, but if you could even afford one of their smaller packages, the photos that you get are going to be exactly what you’re looking for.

Quality over quantity – even with a smaller budget, prioritize the moments that matter most.

Half day wedding photography option

Let’s say your dream photographer offers six hours at $4,000 ($660/ hour), and another photographer offers 10 hours for $2,500 (250/hour) . It might seem like a great deal, but remember, you’re investing in memories that will be cherished forever. As for most other things go, the more you spend, it’s likely you’re going to get better quality. Consider what’s most important to you and allocate your time strategically.

Focus on getting ready, bride and groom photos, bridal party photos, and the ceremony. Each moment counts, and a well-thought-out plan ensures you make the most of your time.
